The vintage style as an element of our lives

How can we actually define the word vintage? As a matter of fact, it’s a term related to wine, which states its age. Nevertheless, we can use it with respect to old clothes. Basically, there exists a link between these two issues. It is said that the older the wine is, the better. Perhaps, with clothes it's the same story... Let’s check what the fashion and stylists state at this point.

Janette Monre is one of the most acclaimed Parisian stylists, whose preserve is creating styling in a vintage style.

"I’ve always had a fondness for vintage clothes. I inbreathe the vogue of past years, which provides us with elegance and extraordinariness. These clothes have a spellbinding soul and a history. They are also ordinarily more tough and made better with such a precision. Yet, there occur some expectations of course. I can admit I’m deeply involved in creating both outfits for instance in the 40s style and 90s. The best is that old clothes immaculately match also with our modern-day clothes. Those compilations might be inimitable indeed. I relish the vintage clothes come back and complete outfits imaginatively today."

Scarfs, polka dots and loose-fitting trousers are exemplary elements which add a vintage character.

We can say the older the more unrepeatable cloth becomes. What can be noticed is that contemporarily more and more people look for their vintage gems, primarily because it’s also a good way to decline worldwide consumerism and conduce to the environment preservation. While it is true that second-hands seem to be obscure for some people, we can find there decent stuff since a multitude of second-hands offer lush shopping. Moreover, it may be just good fun to create your own style and perhaps you will be grateful to your grandmother that she didn’t throw away clothes from her youth...
