This weeks topic: Your Hobby

Since I can remember I’ve played the piano. I’m also a member of local choir, a swimmer, the president of a Local Teen Government and I carry on our school science program. It’s good, you might say, you are multitasking and polished. Yet, none of those things is my true passion and I feel, because of that, I’m not that good at anything I do. Although these activities became a huge part of my current life, I’m thinking about leaving it all behind and trying new things out. Maybe I’ll finally find something that I’m passionate about. On the other hand I’m scared of throwing away my well-arranged life just to find out that there is nothing better for me out there. What do you think?

I have to say I’m really proud of myself. I recently got my first golden cup in National Horse Riding Championships! For a little bit of back story: my parents own a stable so I’ve been riding since I was like 4. Horses are my true passion. I groom them, talk to them, feed them and just love them with my whole heart. My peers sometimes laugh at me saying I’m ‘the horse-girl’, but I don't care! To whoever needs to hear it right now: JUST DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND DON’T CARE WHAT OTHERS THINK.

I have a problem. My dad is a football coach and he really wants me to become a football champion in the future. But, to be honest, I HATE it! I don’t like sports at all. In fact I recently got really into music. What should I do? I’m sick of arranging secret rehearsals of my secret band in our secret location, which is my friend's garage. I want music to be my future, but I know that it would disappoint my dad and I really want him to be proud of me.

My hobby is painting and I can say with a great confidence that I’m pretty good at it. That’s why I want it to be my full time job in the future. I’ve got a few decent brushes but my issue is that paint runs out so quickly and every canvas can be used only once, of course. All those supplies are so expensive if you want them to have great quality. Nevertheless, I love art so much that nothing puts me off. I invest every penny in my passion, ask for paints, tripods and other necessary equipment for every holiday. No matter if it’s my birthday or Christmas. I’m also putting aside money for a summer advanced painting course so wish me luck and hope to see my work in a famous gallery some time.
